The Tanzania Advice Bureau provides various advisory services related to citizen's individual needs in the areas of Education, Health, Housing, Legal Aid and Employment. Our organization is patterned after the Citizen's Advisory Bureau in Scotland, U.K.
TAB volunteers meet with clients to understand their needs in a confidential and supportive environment. Based on the client's specific needs TAB works to identify potential avenues for resolving their concerns and helping them make a connection to the appropriate resources.
TAB also meets with a wide range of resources to apraise them of how their services or products are needed by citizens in Tanzania who may not be able to afford them. TAB can help identify opportunities for these resources to contribute to the community they opporate in by helping those in need. TAB reaches out to foreign businesses operating in Tanzania, seeking to engage them as resources for our citizens. These businesses are often willing to volunteer time and resources to help Tanzanians who would benefit from their assistance.
TAB Secretary, Lori Martinez shows her love for the little children when TAB volunteers visited Mabokweni village in Tanga. Volunteers distributed toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, clothes and soccer balls to the village community while Mr. Mashaka talked to the village elders about their concerns.
TANZANIA ADVICE BUREAU recently met with a Mr. Abraham in Tanga. He was in very critical condition due to the injury of his leg which occured over a year and a half ago. He was in a lot of pain and sleeping on the floor without a bed. After meeting with Mr. Abraham, TAB volunteers purchased a mattress for him, and arranged for transport to a nearby hospital (Korogwe Hospital) in Tanga. After talking to Doctors at a Korogwe - it was decide Mr. Abraham be taken to KCMC Hospital for treatment and follow up care. TAB volunteers are now looking for additional support that can assist with transport fees to and from KCMC as he completes his recovery.
